SQA Appeal Process

The young people of Saint Ninian’s High School have worked exceptionally hard throughout this term; they have shown high levels of work rate and determination during their assessments and have been rewarded for their efforts.

In a previous parental letter, the process for the Alternative Certification Model was explained as well as the thorough and robust stages which the school has carried out. This has included the marking and quality assurance process as well as the moderation and verification sampling with schools within the authority. The provisional results awarded  to the candidates were based on demonstrated attainment undertaken in line with the Scottish Qualification Authority guidance.

This year the SQA has a new appeals process where candidates can request an appeal by themselves. It is important that when making the request for an appeal, a candidates award can go up as well as down. Information about the process as well as applying for an appeal can be accessed through the link below.
