Local Improvement Plan 2021-2024 draft

Local Improvement Plan 2021-2024

Please find attached a draft copy of the Local Improvement Plan 2021-2024.

The draft local improvement plan takes full account of the current national priority areas including the National Improvement Framework, West Partnership Improvement Plan, East Renfrewshire’s Community Plan and the department’s strategy Advancing Excellence and Equity in Education in East Renfrewshire. In particular, links have been made to the National Improvement Framework (NIF) priorities and drivers. There is a continued focus on addressing teacher workload with a further reduction in the number of activities planned over the three year period.

The expected outcomes and impact are organised under the vision statement and have been reviewed and amended to reflect national developments and the department’s ongoing self-evaluation. High level areas for improvement have been outlined which give an indication of the priorities for the department, schools and services for the next three school sessions 2019-20, 2020-21 and 2021-22. Cognisance has been taken of the Covid-19 pandemic and the plan sets out how we will continue to support recovery and address learning loss.

The plan has a clear focus on improving outcomes for all our learners and the impact we expect to have on the experiences of the children, young people and adults who attend our schools and use our centres and services. In line with the Standards in Scotland’s Schools etc. Act 2000 the plan also sets out how we will address the inequalities of outcomes that exist for different equity groups and how we will achieve the priorities associated with the NIF.

Parents may wish to send comments and feedback or other priorities for improvement to Leanne Knox (Leanne2.Knox@eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk) by the end of March 2021. We recognise that this year, the current arrangements may make this more difficult and that you may have do this in alternative or more limited ways. As with previous years, a copy of the draft local improvement plan has been sent to Parent Council Chairs.
