Weekly Prayers

Monday 10 December 2018.

As we start our week we ask God to give us strength and help us to always do our best. With God’s guiding hand let us seek to reach our potential in all that we do. Let us put our trust in God to lead us safely through each day and along the path that he chooses for us. Let us pray together to God our Father:

Tuesday 11 December 2018

This time of year can be very busy with lots of preparation both at home and in school. However, during this time it is important to prepare spiritually. We should try to find peace, strength and encouragement in Jesus’s message.

As we reflect on this, we realise the importance of asking the Lord our Father for guidance and support, particularly during this busy period of Advent.

Our Father…..

Wednesday 12 December 2018.

On 12th December 1901, Italian physicist and radio pioneer Marconi succeeded in sending the first radio transmission across the Atlantic Ocean. The message was sent from Cornwall in England to Newfoundland in Canada, a distance of over 2000 miles.  Marconi was a pioneer in worldwide communications and after his transatlantic transmission, his discoveries received world attention. In 1909, he received the Nobel Prize in physics.

Dear Lord, we pray for peace in our world. Not just the absence of war but good communications and trusting relationships between all nations. We pray that national leaders continue to strive for other ways to end disputes rather than war. Please help us to know what we can do to promote true peace in our world.

Today we listen to Pope Benedict’s Prayer for Strength during Advent

Come Jesus;

Come, give strength to the light and to the good;

Come where dishonesty, ignorance of God, violence and injustice dominate;

Come, Lord Jesus, give strength to the good in the world and help us to be bearers of your light, workers of peace, witnesses of truth.

Come Lord Jesus!

Friday 14 December 2018.

Whether its prelims or family relationships, or even little money to spend on the weekend, we can often worry about many things in life.  Sometimes, these worries can be given so much attention that we forget how much God loves us and that He wants to take care of us, if only we let Him.  So, as we approach Lent, let us ask God to take away our worries and to take care of everything, knowing that He doesn’t break His promises.

Lord Jesus, I thank you for bringing me to school today.  Exams and homework are difficult sometimes and I can get stressed out or anxious about them.   For You, nothing is impossible so I surrender all my efforts of school to you, Jesus.  Through the prayers of Mary my Mother, take care of everything.

Hail Mary…
