Pupil Achievement
Three members of the St Ninian’s Senior Public Speaking and Debate Society attended the District Senior Final Round of the Youth Speaks Competition at Pollokshaws Burgh Hall on Sunday 21st February, having successfully won the local round at Mearns Castle High School in November.
They faced fierce competition from seven other West of Scotland schools who covered a diverse range of topics from stereotyping to the impact of technology on society.
Our own team comprising of Ines Bertaso, Michael McGrade and Naomi Lawson, delivered an excellent presentation on the importance of raising awareness of mental health issues. Whilst the team did not secure a winning position, they all had a fantastic time and greatly appreciated the opportunity to develop and showcase their public speaking skills.
