Feast of All Saints

Today is All Saints Day.

Pope Benedict Reflection – Saints of the 21st Century

Do you and I have what it takes to be a saint?

Here’s a checklist to help us find out…

You’re a saint if you pay attention to God’s presence in your own heart and in the lives of others…

You’re a saint if you pay attention with all you have: with your mind and heart and soul…

You’re a saint if you pay attention to loving your neighbour at home, at school, at work and in the community…

You’re a saint if you pay attention to those in need down the street, across town and around the world…

You’re a saint if you pay attention to being  honest and faithful, fair and just, loyal and trustworthy…

You’re a saint if you pay attention to your own faults and forgive those who’ve hurt you…

You’re a saint if you pay attention to the consequences of your habits, choices, decisions, spending…

You’re a saint if you pay attention to the needs of others before taking care of yourself…

You’re a saint if you know the difference between paying attention – and not paying attention…

You’re a saint if you pay attention even when no one else does…

Lord, help me pay attention,  help me be a saint today…
