Primary 2b enjoyed a wonderful end to their topic, ‘When Granny was a Girl,’ due to an informative visit from Mrs Hallan’s ‘granny’. The children learned lots of interesting things about schools, homes and hobbies in the past. After hearing about toys in the past, the boys and girls decided that they think life in 2014 sounds a little better.
P6/7 made fairtrade banana smoothies as part of their Fairtrade topic.
Primary 1a and 1b had a visit from the campus police officer as part of their topic ‘People Who Help Us’. He spoke about his job and children were able to try on his uniform.
People Who Help Us
Jack’s dad came to see us. He told us all about his work as a professional chef. He enjoys his work and loves cooking healthy meals for the staff. He worked very hard at school and always tried his best.
Primary 1a and 1b loved meeting him and Jack loved him being there.
People Who Help Us
Primary 1a and 1b’s new Social Studies topic is People Who Help Us. We decided to find out about different types of jobs by interviewing lots of people. We made a list of questions to ask each person. We interviewed Emily’s mum. She is a physiotherapist. She helps people when they are in pain. She likes her job because she makes people feel better. If you would like to come in and tell us about your job we would love to see you. We have great questions for you.
