This week NDT Cycling became a Cycling Scotland Bikeability approved retailer, for more information about the BSAR scheme visit the Cycling Scotland webpage here. Good timing considering we have our next Big Bike Sale happening in Rouken Glen Park this weekend on Saturday the 9th of March from 12-3pm. All bikes on sale are fully refurbished under Revolve Standards and sold at bargain prices (typically £40- £80).

To celebrate, pupils are invited to wear uniforms from Brownies, Cubs etc.
Today our pupils enjoyed visiting Athurlie Family Centre and sharing their reading skills with the nursery children!

Neilston Primary had a very special guest during their Read Aloud week and it even made it to the Barrhead News!
It is so amazing to see everything that has been going on in libraries and schools to celebrate Read Aloud and the fantastic achievements of our children and teachers in Reading Recovery.
As part of our special read aloud week, pupils attended the Foundry today to meet David Currie from the BBC.
He was delighted to celebrate in our pupils achievements in reading and invited them to come up and read aloud a page from their favourite books!
Well done for sharing your success!

Read Aloud is a month of events to increase awareness of Reading Recovery and allow all those children who have been participating an opportunity to celebrate their achievements in literacy and become role models for others.
To celebrate the launch of Read Aloud, St. Mark’s pupils attended a very special event at the Barrhead Foundry Library today with important guests and lots of children from across East Renfrewshire schools.
The children’s challenge this week is to read at least 20 book as ….
This was kicked off by the children reading their favourite books to each other!
Next week we will attend the Barrhead Foundry Library again on Wednesday 20th of February, 9.30am to read to David Currie from the BBC.
On Thursday 21st of February, we will read to the children of Arthurlie Family Centre at 10am
And to close our week, we would like to invite any parents/carers into our family room on Friday 22nd February at 2.45pm for tea, biscuit and a good read!
These free lessons will be taught by probationary teachers, hoping to pass their swimming qualification and become qualified swimming instructors and gain employment with ERCLT.
If interested, simply come along to the Barrhead Foundry and register (You do not need to be already attending swimming lessons)
