Active Schools Volunteer Recruitment Night

Did Glasgow 2014 inspire you?  Would you be keen to volunteer with East Renfrewshire Active Schools and Sport Development teams? 

If so, East Renfrewshire Active Schools and Sport Development Teams are running a Volunteer Recruitment night in the lecture theatre at St Ninians High School, Rouken Glen Road, Giffnock, G46 6UG on Monday 1st September at 6pm for anybody who is keen to volunteer within sport and/or physical activity. Health Week – Monday 19th May – Wednesday 21st May

Next week is our annual Health Week in the school.  A number of activities have been planned including cookery demonstrations, electrical safety talks, a visit from a farmer and the “Riderz Stunt Team” to name just a few.  It would be very helpful if your child had their P.E kit and a full water bottle at school on these days. East Renfrewshire Active Schools Netball Final

East Renfrewshire Active Schools Netball Final – 1st April.

Our netball team coached by Miss Dunn, Miss Fawcett and Miss Lamb put on a terrific performance recently in the East Renfrewshire Active Schools Netball Final. We won against Uplawmoor Primary 19-0 and Netherlee 6-4 in the first round. Then went onto meet St Thomas’ Primary in the final where we won 9-4!!

A well deserved win!


Sport your Trainers Day

On Monday 10th March, we took part in ‘Sport your trainers on Commonwealth Day’ in preparation for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth games.
We had special assemblies where we had a presentation from a gymnast and coach that will actually be taking part in the games!
From 27th July -3rd August, the best atheletes from 71 nations and territories will come to compete in Scotland’s biggest ever sporting event.

We are looking forward to taking part in Commonwealth Games themed topics in term 4. By Mia Adair
