Free Bus Travel for Young People in Scotland

This is an update regarding information on the rollout of free bus travel for all children and young people aged between 5 and 21 years old.

As part of the national campaign to encourage participation and ensure children and young people are able to benefit, we have been asked to promote the application process through our schools and nurseries.  To make it as simple as possible, applications can be made by parents or carers through Parentsportal using the existing contact information.

Please click here for further information on the scheme set to go live from 31 January 2022.

Adverse Weather Contingency Plan

As we come into more wintry weather conditions, we would like to outline the arrangements we have put into place should the weather conditions become extreme.

Should there be a snowfall our janitors will clear a path from the main car park to the front door of each of the buildings and the stairs leading from the main building up to the junior department will also be cleared.

The path to the rear of the school leading up to Glenwood Nursery will not be cleared by the school’s janitorial staff.

During periods of severe adverse weather the Council will endeavour to do everything in its power to ensure that schools remain open. However, should our school require to be closed, as much notice as possible will be given to parents. This may take the form of an email, text message and/or a notice on the homepage of the school website.

East Renfrewshire Council’s official website will also contain up to date information regarding the impact of the adverse weather conditions on Council services including schools.

Should the school require to be closed during the course of a school day; no child will be allowed to make their way home unsupervised. Parents, having been contacted by text, will be expected to make arrangements for pupils to be collected from the school. If you have recently changed any of your contact details, please inform the school.

Pupils who normally travel by school bus will be escorted to buses by school staff provided that this service is still operational, otherwise the children will remain in school until collected by an adult.

St. Ninian’s Summer Sports Camps 2021

We are delighted to announce that Saint Ninian’s High School will host a summer sports camp for primary pupils.

There will be two sports camps which will run on the following dates – 26th to 30th July and 2nd to 6th August.

These camps are a fantastic opportunity to develop a whole host of different sporting and interpersonal skills in an enjoyable environment. This is also a great induction for the young  people of Saint Ninian’s feeder schools to experience the PE department.

Please click here to read a poster with further details and pricing.

Payment for camps should be completed using ParentPay on or before Wednesday 23rd June.
On ParentPay you will have the option to pay for either a full week (P1-3 is £30 / P4-7 is £70) or for individual days (P1-3 is £8 and P4-7 is £15).  Please make sure the payment is made before you complete the form below.  The payment items are set up in such a way that will allow you to make multiple payments (i.e. you may book your child in for 2 days and then you can still go back in to pay for another day later).  Please note – you cannot pay for multiple children in the one booking (you need to go into each child’s name/ account on ParentPay).

Please also find below a link to a Microsoft Form which must be completed on or before Wednesday 23rd June to confirm your place at these camps.
