Lateral flow tests

As some of you may know there is a test for covid called “lateral flow test”. It gives the result in 30 minutes.  This test is being used to detect asymptomatic covid. This means the test should only be used if you DO NOT have symptoms of covid.

The Lateral Flow Device (LFD) kits are for the whole family to use and we urge you to use them. Please follow the instructions in the test kits.

The school is going to help East Renfrewshire Council to distribute the Lateral Flow test kits on Friday 11th of June during drop off time, from 08:30 to 09:30am at the main entrance. You will be required to leave name and contacting number in case they need to recall tests.

If you have run out of test kits and want more, you can order more to be delivered to your home.

To order more tests, please visit the UK government’s website Get tested for coronavirus (COVID-19) – NHS (www.nhs.uk) and complete the form. It will ask if you want to create an account. You can continue without one and still get a home test kit.

You can also pick up LFD test kits at the Mobile Testing Unit in the lower car park of the School, as well as the other testing sites for people with no symptoms across East Renfrewshire. Information is updated regularly on the Council website. Covid-19 testing centres – East Renfrewshire – Covid

Whenever people are asked to self-isolate due to being a close contact of a person testing positive, they should take the PCR test.
