INTERNATIONAL DAY
2-4.30 pm Sunday 29th April
Please come along to our International Day – a free event to celebrate the diversity of our wonderful school community. We are delighted to be funded by (and give a huge thank you for) our “Big Lottery Celebrate” grant…. so the whole event won’t cost you a penny!
You’ll find something for all the family including…
- OLM round the world showcase – music, dance and poetry, including dance from Scotland, Ireland and India
- Our “OLM Big Picnic” for families to share food from their own cultures (more info to follow)
- Bollywood dance tasters – for all to enjoy
- Family stalls from countries all over the world sharing pictures, memorabilia and food tasters
- “Make your own pakora” drop in session
- Displays created by children in school
- Art and craft activities from across the globe
- Henna hand painting and flag face painting
- International passport – stamped with all the countries you visit
- International quiz and word searches
- Round the world relay course
- Sports tasters including Gaelic football, cricket and shinty
- Fantastic grand parade led by piper and drummer to show off our amazing national costumes – making as much noise as possible with shakers and drums
If you can / want to, please dress in something showing your heritage or national colours (whether it’s a football top or a fez) to make the day as colourful as possible.
