Committee Meeting – Tuesday 8th October – 7.00pm
In attendance: Joe Shaw, Karen McCann, Teresa MacPherson, Colette Carruthers, Alison Moore, Barbara Rourke, Wendy MacLeod, Louise Sheridan, Charlie Jamieson, Joanne Miller, Catherine Gallagher.
Apologies: Emma McAndrew, Clare McCargo, Sheila Reid, Veronica Dowling, Geraldine Innes, Bernadine Nordmann.
- Welcome: – Joe welcomed everyone to the meeting and welcomed new members.
- Lottery:- Joanne Ewing – £50 and Lesley Tunn – £25
- Treasurer’s Report: – Current Balance is £3839. There are still some monies from lottery to be banked and the Hallowe’en ticket sales have still to be included.
- School Funding Requests: Mr Jamieson has had some initial discussion with the staff regarding requests. Some suggestions included some new wet play boxes, structured play equipment for the P1s, flip cameras and possibly class laptops. There was also some discussion regarding some of the projectors bulbs which need replacing and due to cost it may be more practical to purchase new projectors. Mr Jamieson to feedback at next meeting as to requests the school has.
- Hallowe’en update: – been an excellent response and the event has sold out. Everyone who applied received their allocation. Mr Jamieson to check the decorations and it may require the purchasing of new ones. Volunteers still required for set up and clean up at end. Jacqueline will be able to set up games but unable to stay so volunteers required for the games stalls.
- Christmas Update:
- Cards : Geraldine to provide an update at next meeting
- Christmas Fayre: volunteers required for shopping. Joe to send out an email for volunteers. Mr Jamieson to check with Mrs Dowling regarding availability of Santa.
- Sub group for raffle: volunteers required to distribute letters and collect donations to/from local businesses. All names to be sent to Joe. Also email/letter to be sent to parents/guardian seeking donations for raffle.
- P7 disco: 17th December in St.Joseph’s Church Hall
- P1 Parties: books have to be purchased.
- Other fundraising events: – suggestions included a ceilidh 2014 – it was agreed that this would be discussed at a later meeting. A magician night- Joanne to find out more details and the possibility of a bike sale. It was also suggested that a get together for new P1 parents and children would be popular. This to be discussed as a possibility for next year’s intake.
- AOB: – Facebook- the pupil council has set up a facebook page and it was suggested that the PSA could also be included. A request will have to be sent to the parent council. General discussion around monitoring of content but benefits included the use as a good communication tool and also discussion board.
