Newsletter June 2013

Once again we look back at what has been a very busy and exciting session for the staff and pupils here at Our Lady of the Missions Primary School.

 Confirmations
This final term began with the Confirmation of our Primary Seven pupils at St. Vincent Church and St. Mirin’s Cathedral. Both masses were very moving and spiritual occasions for all who took part.

Our recent Leavers’ Mass was a most uplifting service. The children’s singing was outstanding! Special mention to our musicians, Mairead McGrotty and James Gallagher from P7 assisted by Lewis and Rachel Murphy and Kathleen O’Hara, all former pupils. Now we look forward to the Leavers’ Ceilidh on Monday night. Thanks to the PSA for funding this lovely evening, and thanks to Mrs Young and Mrs Doherty who made the corsages and buttonholes for the children. Continue reading Newsletter June 2013

Sports Day

Thanks to everyone who made this years Sports Day a great success. The weather was kind to us and the children thoroughly enjoyed taking part in all the races. It was new to Primary 1 but they rose to the occasion and participated with enthusiasm. From Primary 2-7 all races went like clock work and the children were competitive but showed good sportsmanship!

What A Great Day!
