This morning the whole school gathered in the Street to participate in our Christmas service.
It was a lovely service, with great readings and songs. We would like to thank Primary 1.3, 3.12 and 4.14 for their fantastic performances which were enjoyed by the audience.
We’d also like to thank our pastoral team for their attendance and their support throughout the year.
The festive season is well and truly underway at Mearns Primary. Last week we had the pleasure of watching a range of talented musicians and singers onto our stage as part of The Winter Concert.
The evening was a great success and the perfect way to get into the Christmas mood.
On Thursday 25 May pupils will be taking part in a Mile for Malawi as part of their daily mile. It is non uniform day and pupils are asked to wear sportswear (no football colours). In return we would ask for a minimum donation of £1.00. All funds raised will go to the charity Malawi Leaders of Learning. This is a development scheme aimed at sharing resources and expertise between Scotland and Malawi to improve the quality of learning and teaching for Malawian children.
Donations can be made via ParentPay by logging onto your account at www.ParentPay.com. There is of course no compulsion for children to take part and any pupil who doesn’t wish to participate should wear full school uniform.
Also from Monday 22 May to Wednesday 24 May, pupils from P4.20 and the Pupil Council will be running a “Guess the Animal’s Birthday”. Pupils can bring in 50p to take part in this event. The winner will be announced on Thursday 25 May 2017.
Wednesday 10th May 2017. On this day it will be a hot/cold buffet at lunchtime, there will be no other available meal options on this day for P1 – P7. The hot/cold buffet will be the only option on this day – please see attachment.
