It’s not only the Scotland team that like to boogie!
Classes Yell & Unst like to boogie as part of their health and wellbeing every morning and made this video!
Some of our senior girls experienced an early morning yoga session with Eileen.
First they worked on some stretches and then they listened to some stories from Eileen to focus on , flexibility and breathing to boost physical and mental wellbeing.

The dentist will be in school on the morning of Wednesday 17th May.
She will undertake inspections for children from P1 and P7.
Opt out consent forms have been sent home via class diaries.

Some of our senior pupils participated in meditation as part of their mindfulness course.
Afterwards, they reported back on how calm they felt and how well they could concentrate on their next lesson.

Class Lewis made Lemon Squash Soup this afternoon from the harvest crop that our parent ground force team grew.
They had to wash the crop, chop all the ingredients, stir, cook and blend.
The aroma was amazing and everyone enjoyed having a taste.

Class Islay made their own snack this morning, pancakes and they were amazing.
Afterwards they all had a job to clear up, promoting independence skills.
Best part though was eating the delicious pancakes.

Meet the Teacher
Class Tiree have invited their parents in for a “meet the teacher” session to meet new staff, see the classroom and find out about topics being studied this term. Pupils will then show some of their favourite activities.

Sexual Health Drop in
Mrs Goodlad and Miss McMillan have arranged a sexual health drop in session on Wednesday 28th September from 1:30pm – 2:30pm.
This is open to all parents to come see resources and learn about how the school supports the young people.
As part of a pilot project being run at the school, we would like to invite you to attend two taster sessions of a programme called ‘Healthy Lives at IMS’. The project will focus on educating the young people about healthy eating and exercise, with support of their families.

Each taster session will be structured as follows:
Places on the programme are limited and must be booked in advanc,. If you wish to reserve a place for you and your child, please complete the sign off form sent home via the home school diaries.

We are planning on delivering the sexual health topic over the 2013/14 session.

Jodi Dean, Health Improvement Senior for East Renfrewshire will be available to give information and answer questions about the healthy lifestyle initiative (adapted version of the ACES programme) which is going to be offered to pupils in P5-7.
More details and consent forms for this healthy lifestyle initiative will be sent home to pupils very soon.
