The girls were busy bees on Friday afternoon during their skills workshop, “Looking after your home and cookery” group.
The afternoon was spent assessing the house and then everyone had a different area to clean.
Great job, girls.
Our primary pupils are having a Christmas disco tomorrow afternoon. Party clothes can be worn or brought into school and chaged into later.
Our senior Christmas disco will take place on Tuesday 19th December from 7 -9pm.
All former pupils are welcome to join us.
Looking forward to some groovy dancing and festive outfits.
Class Bute had a magical sensory visit to Dobbies this morning to visit Santa.
Santa spent some time with the children talking to them and sharing some of his sensory items. The snow globe was a particular favourite.

Class Tiree wrote a story about a wizard and also talk about the meaning of Christmas.
Thank You to all the pupils, staff, parents and friends for all their help and support with our Christmas Fair last night. I’m sure you will agree it was a huge success.
We raised the magnificent sum of £2020.67.
All the classes had been involved in creating crafts or organising the tombola or donations for the Giving Table. We had some very creative ideas.
Some of our senior pupils organised an auction as part of their Duke of Edinburgh award. Thank you to Alex, William, Rachel and Olivia for supporting this on the evening and starting off the bidding………
A donation from the auction will be sent to Macmillan Cancer Care as part of their charity work.
A huge shout out to the pupils from IMS, St Cadoc’s and Crookfur primaries who sang in the Community Unity choir. They entertained us with 3 carols and even added in some Makaton signing.
Well done everyone and a special thanks to Mrs McKinnon for organising the fair this year.

The primary department held a very special assembly today.
Class Shetland and some of the primary classes bid farewell to one of their friends, Angus as the family move to New Zealand.
They made a slideshow and presented Angus with a photo book of his time at Isobel Mair.
We wish you well and hope you keep in touch.
Thursdays ISS@IMS group at Corrie House have been very busy lately.
On Thursday, 16th November they held an enterprise activity where they took orders for breakfast rolls, cooked them and delivered them to classes.
They raised an amazing £118 well done everyone and I’m sure there were a few tired students that night.
What a great Fire Safety assembly from classes Whalsay and Harris.
During their presentation they reminded everyone of all the important points to keep safe this bonfire night and then finished off with a quiz.
Class Whalsay joined them for some dancing around the bonfire.
Remember to keep safe everyone and have fun.
Miss MacKay is so proud of one of her P1 pupils wearing his new glasses all day in school.

Some of our classes have been involved in workshops this week with Rookie Rockstars and have been working towards a performance on Friday 27th October at 1:30pm.
Pupils have really enjoyed participating and are looking forward to their rock performance.
Pupils can get into full rock character if they wish with rock dress up, props, face paints and funky hair.

Rookie Rockstars is an initiative that was created to give children the opportunity to work with professional musicians to learn original songs, record a CD and perform in a fantastic concert. The programme covers key areas of the Curriculum for Excellence: Health and Wellbeing, Expressive Arts, Moral Education, Literacy, Technologies and more. Children participate in a unique learning experience which tackles anti-bullying, and aims to promote confidence, self-esteem, and positive friendships.

Senior pupils have started an ICT/Communication Club have been working with one of the GLOW 365 apps, Yammer.
They are so excited to be using this app and connect with their friends and be able to chat, discuss and tackle homework tasks. (pupils said it was a bit like Facebook)
O was so pleased when our Head Teacher, Mrs Clark replied to him……….. his smile said it all.
Class Orkney had a great learning experience yesterday with Eileen, the Yoga specialist.
Eileen introduced the pupils to some exercises which are fun, educational, physical and progressive.
Yoga enhances physical flexibility and promotes physical strength. It develops focus, concentration and encourages pupils to focus on the physical effort.

We were delighted to welcome our new therapy pet dog, Inca to school this morning.
She had an initial visit to some of the classes to get to know them and will be back for more visits.
