On Thursday the Royal Navy came in and did some STEM workshops with us. We used VR headsets to fly helicopters and a jet. We also got to create circuits using a motor, we managed to make them very powerful so that the helicopter fly up into the air. We got to control and program Spheros, we made them colourful and got them to dance! One station was about hydraulics it was really fun we had to wear safety goggles and we got to see what would happen if something exploded. There was also a giant TV which showed us round a submarine, it was like a video game, we got to see where the crew would sleep, eat and do their jobs. We had so much fun 🙂  Have a look on Twitter to see some pictures of us.

Euler has been learning about different types of angles and how many degrees they have.

We have started to work in groups to create a poster about the pollution in the River Clyde. We were looking at different sources to gather information about pollution in the Clyde. We are trying to convince people that cleaning the Clyde is important.

We are going to start an engineering competition next week to create something to help the planet deal with the big litter problem it faces. We have already started to think of great ideas!

In ICT we have been creating holiday brochures of our dream destinations. We had to persuade people to come to our destination and make it eye catching. We also had to think about how you would get to the destination and activities you could do there.

In writing we wrote some fabulous Valentine’s Day poems. We were using similes, metaphors, repetition and rhyme.
