P5 trip to Summerlee Industrial museum

This week, both classes went on a trip to the Summerlee museum as part of our Victorians topic.  The children had the chance to take part in an interactive workshop where they got to dress up like Victorian children, have a go at writing using a quill and ink, and play with some traditional Victorian toys.
Next, they got to visit a reconstruction of a mine and hear about the jobs that Victorian children might’ve done.  Finally, we spent some time in the museum which had information about Coatbridge and Glasgow throughout the ages- everyone enjoyed having a dance in the reconstruction of the Barrowland Ballrooms!

Thanks again to all of our parent helpers who made the trip run so smoothly! The children had a brilliant time.
