9.9.16
Welcome to our blog. We have enjoyed a busy week and we would like to share some of our learning with you.
What we have been learning this week
We had a class trip to the Mosque in Glasgow. We were lucky enough to be shown around and we were told lots of interesting facts.
“I did not know that every Mosque had a big hall” (Calum)
“There were lots of different rooms in the Mosque. (Rebecca)
“We had to cover our arms and our heads”. (Corinne)
“The daily prayer times were displayed” (Hashim)
“I did not know that Muslims had to wash before they pray” (Naomi)
We will be learning more about Islam and the Mosque over the next few weeks.
Language
We have been learning how to Skim and Scan various texts. We know the difference between these and we have been able to complete various tasks with success.
“When scanning you are looking for a specific thing. When you skim you are looking quickly for something and then move on” (Aiden).
We created a Poem about our school and we went on a walk to give us ideas for our poem. We had an excellent time and we created lovely poems.
Maths
We have all been learning various things. Some of us have been learning to divide with exchanging. The Primes have been learning about equivalent fractions. The decimals have been rounding numbers – some of them can be quite tricky. The Multiples have been working on numeracy.
We hope that you have a wonderful weekend.
