Another week working hard in P2! We are all getting back into the swing of things now after the holiday.
Note from the teacher – There seems to be an issue with the GLOW passwords and logging in at home. We are currently investigating this.
We have been learning about lots of different things – touch, halves and quarters, main ideas, heartstart, problem solving, anti-racism, how to make powerpoints and acting in drama.
In language some children have been learning how to write a letter. The children had received a letter of complaint from Mr Bear about Goldilocks behaviour. The children then had to write an angry letter back to Mr Bear. We learned that we had to write – our own address at the top, the date and the address of the receiver. – Emily Chong
We were learning how to make a PowerPoint and add text and change the font, colour and even some added pictures. Mrs Grubb showed us a PowerPoint that had lots of different effects to make the presentation interesting – there were sound clips, noises, pictures, shapes and different text. – Corinne
In maths this week Alexander was learning how to solve problems. Alexander solved the problem by using tens and units and drawing circles.
Timothee was learning about halves and quarters in maths. I learned how to identify the fraction of a shape that was coloured in. I learned by listening to the teacher and making my own matching game.
In language Farhan was learning how to answer different questions – right there, think and search and on your own questions. We were reading about Eggs and Chicks and had to answer questions about them.
In topic Lucy G, Lily and Aiden was learning about touch. We learned about this by watched a short video by Jimmy Cricket and he told us all about touch. We feel through our skin and we can feel cold, hot, pain and pressure. The skin then sends these messages to the brain and tells our bodies how to react.
In maths Cameron was learning about subtraction. Cameron was doing calculations in his jotter where he had to exchanging tens.
In maths Naomi was learning about greater than and less than. Charlie Croc helps us to get the sign the correct way as he only eats the bigger numbers.
