Primary 5 have enjoyed another great week! 🙂

In maths the Fantastic Fractions have been learning how to calculate the volume of a cuboid. The Excellent Equations have been revising how to simplify fractions and calculate equivalent fractions and will be moving on to something new and exciting next week. The Super Subtractions have been calculating the area and perimeter of different shapes. Next week, the Super Subtractions will be learning about direction and movement.

In language, we have been finishing off and re-drafting our imaginative stories. We have been challenging ourselves to up level our work as we redraft it to make it even better! We have also been illustrating our stories. We look forward to sharing them with you soon! 🙂

Readosaurus have been reading The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe and are really enjoying the text so far. Writosaurus have continued reading a Series of Unfortunate Events and are really enjoying it. Spellosaurus are almost finished Georges Marvellous Medicine! We look forward to starting a new book next week.

In Social Studies, we have continued learning about the Scottish Wars of Independence. We learned about William Wallace and the Battle of Stirling Bridge and created our own story boards to show what happened during this battle. We also created our own Coats of Arms where different animals and colours represent different traits E.g. lionàbravery, unicornà extreme courage, purpleàjustice, yellow/goldà generosity. We will share some pictures of our Coats of Arms next week 🙂

In PE, we have been doing athletics and have been learning different skills at different stations. We have enjoyed doing hurdles, sprints and relay races!

Today, we were lucky enough to go to the Whitecraigs rugby club with lots of other schools. We really enjoyed playing rugby rounders, completing obstacle courses and meeting new friends! We were even lucky to have a sunny day! 😀

We hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!
