P.E. Days

Below is a reminder of when PE days are for each class.

Pupils should wear full school uniform to school on these days and have their kits in class to change into for their PE lesson.  Pupils will have weekly slots of PE outside, and will go outside in inclement weather, so please ensure these kits contain warmer clothes for the winter months. If you have any issues providing PE kits then please contact any member of the Management Team at school.

Tennis Update!

Hot off the press News!

Yesterday, at Scotstoun Leisure Centre our four P4 Tennis Stars competed in the West Region Primary Schools Finals.

With flashing forehands and beautiful backhands on show they challenged for every point, acquitting themselves magnificently, whilst showing immaculate sportsmanship.

Finishing in an amazing second place, narrowly beaten by The High School of Glasgow’s Junior School, the team should be very proud of their achievements.  All of the Busby Family are extremely proud of them.

Andy Murray is now officially looking over his shoulder!

Skating Star

Congratulations go to Rebecca (P7) on gaining a place with the British Skating Development Squad.  All the hard work and determination, including three 5.30am starts a week have certainly paid off.  Her talents have also been recognised with a nomination for the South Lanarkshire Sports Awards.

All the Busby Family are extremely proud of Rebecca.  Well done!

Skipping Fun

Taking advantage of the good weather, P1 took their PE outdoors today.  Mrs Kerr was teaching the pupils how to skip.  Much concentration was on show, but the big smiles showed how much fun everyone was having!

Petanque?

Taking advantage of the beautiful weather, and the chance to work cross-curricularly, P6/7 held a petanque competition during PE today.  A chance to learn some new skills, whilst sample a small piece of French Culture. Tres bon!

Active Schools’ Football

Following an exciting train journey yesterday afternoon, Busby was ably represented in the first of this year’s Active Schools’ Football events.  Our pupils had the opportunity to pit their skills against teams from Giffnock Primary, Braidbar Primary and Thornliebank Primary.

A record of one defeat, two draws and a victory made for a successful afternoon and all pupils participating thoroughly enjoyed the experience!
