Tesco Bags Of Help
At Busby, we are hoping to install a vertical garden at the rear of the school. We have been in discussions with international environmental artist, Marc Granen and a consultancy called Nature Harmonics to try and bring this exciting project to life. In order to raise the necessary funds, we have managed to secure a place in the latest Tesco Bags of Help vote.
If you are shopping in one of these stores, please cast your vote for Busby!

Big Electrical Amnesty
As part of Pass It On week, the Eco Committee have registered Busby for the Big Electrical Amnesty. This initiative promotes recycling, and the committee are asking if you have any surplus, unwanted (but working) electrical devices bring them into school and place them in the collection box outside the Janitor’s 0ffice.
Items will be accepted Monday to Friday next week, and then collected for recycling.

Energy Enforcers at Work!
Today our Energy Enforcers called into all the classes to give a talk on how to be energy efficient within the school. Using a PowerPoint, they reminded pupils of our responsibilities in minimising the amount of energy we use every day. Well done for spreading the Eco Message and helping to keep Busby as environmentally friendly as possible!
3rd ECO Flag Award
We are proud to announce that we have just had our green flag renewed for the third time. An assessor from Eco-Schools Scotland came out to see the fantastic work that has been going on at Busby since our last submission. She was extremely impressed with the work that the children are leading and was overwhelmed by the confidence and dedication they demonstrated towards the Eco work. She said, “At all times I found your pupils to be enthusiastic, articulate and knowledgeable about Eco-schools learning and activities.” She was also very impressed by the Eco Committee and identified that they are doing an, “Excellent job in motivating others to take positive environmental action.” Well done, everyone!
