A sad farewell

Busby Primary said a sad farewell to our outgoing P7 year group on Friday 24th June.  The P7s led a wonderful and emotional service at Busby Parish Church before coming back to the school to get their shirts and yearbooks signed.

P7 Leavers

All pupils and staff lined up to cheer them out of the school when the bell rang at 1pm.  Class of 2015/16 – we will miss you!

Football Final

Congratulations to Northern Ireland who won Busby’s Football tournament.  Thank you to Mr Ross for organising the tournament – nearly 100 pupils participated.

End of term service collection in aid of Rett Syndrome : Friday 24th June

Morgan, one of our Primary 7 pupils has approached me with a request to fund-raise for another child, Shona, who is 9 years old and lives locally. She can only communicate by smiling but enjoys nothing more than having friends around her.

Shona has Rett Syndrome, this is a neurological condition which can strike young girls, leaving them with multiple disabilities and medical complexities for life.

Morgan would like it if the end of term service collection could be in aid of Retts Syndrome, please give as generously as you can.

More information is available via the school website or by visiting www.reverserett.org.uk/what-we-do/rett-syndrome/

Active 8 Tennis Festival

P5 Tennis Festival

All P5 pupils participated in the Active 8 Williamwood Cluster Tennis Festival at Clarkston Tennis Club on Wednesday 8th June.  The children were divided into groups with peers from Carolside and Netherlee Primary schools and rotated around 13 different activity ‘stations’.  The weather was fantastic and all pupils gave very positive feedback about the day.  Our thanks go to Active Schools staff and the Sports Leaders from the high school for organising a great event.
