4th Year

January 2014 – Supported Study Dates!

Supported Study Dates for January 2014 are now available (here). 

These sessions are open to all senior students studying at the level indicated next to the session. 

We strongly recommend that you attend these sessions in order to improve your chances of achieving the best possible results in the exams in May 2014.

Please add as many sessions to your calendar as you can.  All sessions start immediately after school on the day indicated.

Supported Study Timetable

It’s that time of year again – and we don’t mean Christmas!
Supported Study is now running for all pupils sitting SQA exams this session. By clicking here you will find a list of supported study dates for December.

These dates are open to all students studying at the level indicated next to the session. We strongly recommend that you attend these sessions in order to improve your chances of achieving the best possible results in the exams in May.

The calendar will be updated on a monthly basis. Please enter all relevant dates into your diary. All sessions start immediately after school on the day indicated.

Debating Club

After a short break and the many successes enjoyed by our team this year, the Debating club returns on Wednesdays Lunchtime for Juniors and Thursday after school for Seniors as we start preparation for upcoming debating competitions.

There might also the opportunity to represent Scotland in the English Speaking Union World Schools Competition which will take place in Thailand in 2014 as applications are now open.

If you are interested in debating and public speaking you are welcome to come along to room 35 at the start of lunchtime or Thursday at 3:45.

Ski Trip

A short meeting will be held on Tuesday, 30th April to discuss the school ski trip to Pila, Italy in 2014.  Students wishing more details can click here or attend the meeting in the school theatre on Tuesday.

All year groups welcome.

S3 Study Skills Evening

On Tuesday 26th March, around 50 parents/carers of S3 students attended our Raising Attainment- Study Skills Information Evening.

Feedback from the event would suggest that it was very well received, and that parents felt the presentations from staff were useful and informative.

Due to demand, we have attached links to the presentations given on the night- we would be delighted if you took some time to look them over.

Senior Award Ceremony

This session’s award ceremony for S4, 5 and 6 pupils will take place on Friday 26th April at 1.45 in the school theatre. Parents of those receiving an award will be notified by text alert and letter. Pupils should check the list on the janitor’s window for their row prior to rehearsal. Any queries please speak to Miss Potter.
