Barrhead Project potentially worth £100,000 to transform Local Community

Barrhead High School, along with ‘Still Game’, a local retired people’s club and East Renfrewshire Council has been shortlisted for a chance to win £100,000 of Big Lottery Funding.  The Water Works project aims to transform the abandoned sewage works into an industrial wildlife area, using the derelict sewage tanks as giant experimental planters where wild flower habitats can be carefully created.  If successful the project will play an important role in our pupils achieving their John Muir Trust Discovery Level Award and in the school renewing its Green Flag status.

There are 4 projects which have been shortlisted so to win we need your vote. Voting opens to the public on the 14th October through to the 4th November – we will post details as soon as we receive them. If you would like to find out more about this exciting project please click here.
