In S1 students study the following four topics:

Topic 1 – Sport

Sports in French. Saying which sports you play, how often, who with and where. Giving opinions on sports. Learningabout sports personalities in French.

Topic 2 – Television/Cinema

Learning about different kinds of television programmes and genres of film. Talking about films in French. Describing and talking about film-stars.

Topic 3 – Music

Different genres of music in French. Musical instruments in French. Talking about bands in French and looking at French music and French artists. Talking about your favourite singers and bands.

Topic 4 – My Town

Talking about where you live and what it’s like. Learning to talk about different kinds of places and your preferences. Saying what things different town and villages have and what you can do in each place.

Homework

Topic 1 – Sport Students should learn their vocabulary each week. Preparation of a presentation in French about a famous sportsperson. Topic 2 – Television/Cinema Students should learn their vocabulary each week. Research information about French film-stars. Topic 3 – Music Students should learn their vocabulary each week. Research information about your favourite band and put it into French. Topic 4 – My Town Students should learn their vocabulary each week.
