European Language Day in P7.26

Today we took part in a quiz called “Who wants to be a millionaire”, we answered questions about world population and languages.

Then we looked at how to say “Hello” in lots of different languages. We all got stickers with “talk to me” in different languages on them!!

Rose water

Yesterday I brought in some rose water for the class to try. I did this because I am currently studying Hindu weddings and this is a popular drink. Chloe 😊

SPACE – Our Irresistible Curriculum in P7

One of our curricular areas we are focusing on in our irresistible curriculum is Science – Space. During our last session we designed our own solar system using everyday materials. We had to design every planet by look, size and colour. We had to work in teams to create the solar system. By Isla

RME – Marriages across Religions

During the irresistible curriculum we have been doing RME and we were learning about marriages across religions. Me and my group decided to focus on Hindu weddings and for that we decided to bring in food to share with the class. You wouldn’t have this food at the first wedding, but more the second or third one. Have a look at some of the food! By Chloe and Isla

Decorating cakes in Mearns Masters

Starting of with basic fairy cakes, my group started with a layer of yellow fondant with a turquoise blue buttercream to act as the sea. On top of the sea was dark blue fondant shaped like a shark fin. On the yellow fondant, there was a fondant palm tree topped with green star shaped leaves.                                        I enjoyed this experience and learned some skills for the Mearns Bake Off.

The Big Breakfast

The Big Breakfast is part of The STV Children’s Appeal. We brought a bowl and a spoon into school. We had many choices to decide from. There was corn flakes, rice crispies, buns and also a tray of fruit! Some people in the class even baked some cakes and muffins. We spent the morning enjoying our food and playing games. The school raised over £1,000 for the appeal.

Safety in the Park

On Thursday the 5th of September 2019 we went to Safety in the the Park at Arthurlie House in Barrhead. It was so much fun . My favourite station was the Mock Crime Scene which was delivered by the police. The theme was a crime had just happened and an old lady had just been murdered. There was broken glass and a bottle of wine and a knife with was hiding under the bag. It was so much fun and I would like to go again.
