We have started a new focus on biodiversity with Mrs James as part of our outdoor learning.

We managed to collect as many different leaves as we could a few weeks ago.  Firstly, we looked at the different characteristics displayed on each leaf – it’s shape, size and texture.

To help us identify which type of plant it had come from we used a classification key online to help us.

We discussed the fact that at this time of year the colour does not really help us in identifying its source due to the leaves dying off and turning brown and yellow.
