Stem Fortnight (plus pancake day, a week late!😁)
Fantastic week of Stem visitors - including The Science Centre, RNLI, SSPCA, Dams to Darnley & Whitelee Windfarm. The children found the visits really engaging & asked interesting questions. We finished the week with a pancake treat 😋😘
Vikingar!
4.14 had a brilliant day out at Vikingar in Largs. We experienced life as a Viking – spending time in a longhouse learning about daily life & comparing it to our own. We were surprised they ate and drank some of the same things we do, but instead of a cup used a ram’s horn for drinking, loudly shouting “Skol!” We tried on helmets & clothes of a typical villager from the farmer & craftsman to the wealthy trader. We learnt about the history of battle of Largs which took place right across the road on the beach! It really brought the topic to life & the class would highly recommend 😍
4.14 have been problem solving mystery maths & started researching our exciting new Viking topic 🙂
Busy week in 4.14 with a fantastic story-telling assembly, a visit from Gregor’s mum to talk about electricity & some bridge engineering this afternoon. Great fun 😍
Had a fun day building bridges! STEM
P4 trip to Tall Ship & Riverside Museum. The children were cheering when we crossed The Clyde. They were so excited to see everything we had been learning about in class, especially The Waverley!😍
