We have enjoyed a marvellous start to the fortnight welcoming many visitors and specialists and learning so much about careers in science and technology.
Roman mosaics
We have really enjoyed learning about Roman mosaics and studying them. It was great fun making our own mosaics too. Romans usually made mosaics of mythical creatures, animals or food, so we did the same.
Symmetry in PE
Look at all these wonderful symmetrical shapes we made with our bodies today at PE.
Maths fun
We’ve been enjoying learning new skills and practising our existing skills in maths. We’ve been concentrating on symmetry, multiplication, division, code cracking and Venn Diagrams, lots of ideas to keep practising over the holidays during any quiet moments!
Star Writers
Here are our December Star Writers, everyone has been working on creating so super stories, poems and instructions. We are trying hard to focus on using adjectives as well as remembering and using our spelling rules to help spell words correctly. As always, we are thinking about our handwriting and spacing too.
P3.9’s Blog
Welcome to P3.9’s Blog.
It has been a very busy, fun-filled, learning-packed start to our year, beginning with our P3 Show linked to all of the numeracy-based learning we are engaging in. 3.9 worked extremely hard to learn and deliver their lines, songs and dances. Every member of our class gave their best to our performance, which was a great success.
We have also been working hard on our Anti-Litter topic. The children have produced marvellous posters and placards which we took outside at playtime to encourage all the children in the playground to pick up their litter. We have been out using the litter-pickers to collect any litter that has not been picked up. 3.9 have been very enthusiastic and have managed to keep our playground much cleaner than it has been in the past. Well done 3.9!
The Big Breakfast was a great success and the children really enjoyed having breakfast together as a class.
During Defib week 3.9 learned lots about how to take care of a person who has become ill. All the children really enjoyed their homework task to do a minute’s intense exercise each night, and to feel their hearts pumping the blood through their bodies. Hopefully we will raise enough money to purchase our own Defibrillator.
Unfortunately we are still waiting for a few photo consent forms and so can’t publish photos of all the activities that have been going on. Hopefully we will have them all in soon and some photos will accompany our blog.
