In our Science lesson last week we were making electrical circuits using wires, batteries, switches, light bulbs, motors and buzzers.

Last week we had a chance to check how important it is to wash our hands properly. After rubbing some Bug Potion on our hands, we have checked how germs would spread- our hands glowed under the UV light (nails were especially bad!). We then split into two groups to test what is more effective: washing hands with soap and water or hand sanitising. The results were clear… Wash your hands with soap and water whenever possible and remember to do it properly!
It was a cold crisp day today and we had a really interesting time working on our observation, recording and analysis skills.

The week before the October holiday we all made and designed our fantastic high tech outdoor clip board flower presses before exploring the eco garden and finding some interesting leaves and flowers. Mrs Kelly told us what some of them were and we loo looked some of them up on an app.
We carefully placed the items we picked into our presses and stored them away in our tray…..ready for two weeks later when we had the big reveal this morning.
it was so interesting looking at what happened to the leaves and flowers over the two weeks they were being pressed. You can see some pictures above and hear some of the things we discussed in the video clips below too.
What an interesting morning we had listening to Mrs Aisha Aman, STEM ambassador and working together to create food chains. We learned all about producers, primary and secondary consumers, plants, herbivores, omnivores and carnivores. Our teachers were really impressed with all the forest animals and living things we knew like voles, caterpillars, hedgehogs, badgers, daisies, trees, mice, foxes, buzzards and eagles.
