Course Outline
Over the course of S2 pupils will study Tropical Rainforests and Earth Forces. The Rainforests topics focuses on location, climate, layers and animals, tribes, fair-trade and deforestation. Pupils will then learn about Natural Hazards in a broad sense before focusing on Earthquake case studies of their choosing.
The course also embeds natural IDL opportunities. For example, the Amazonia animals come to visit which links with Biology.
The S2 course is driven by CfE experiences and outcomes and the appropriate benchmarks. The course is regularly reviewed and updated taking into account curriculum changes, pupil and parental feedback. Pupils will develop a range of skills for life, learning and work. Pupils can review their progress and record evidence of skills development in their PLP jotter.
