Hi everyone 🙂 Who is up for a challenge?
To end our Scotland topic, we thought it would be a great idea to take on the challenge as a whole school to walk 500 miles. The North Coast 500 is a beautiful scenic route around the north coast of Scotland. We are going to aim to walk the length of this (500 miles) by 28th February!
Encourage your whole family to take part in this challenge, it is going to be tricky but I believe Team Sorn will be able to knock this out of the park.
Every time you go a walk make sure to email your teacher or post on your class blog how many miles you have done! Please send us some pictures or videos out your walks too as we really miss seeing your faces.
500 miles by 28th February, we can do this!
Hi Primary 4/5, I hope you had an excellent weekend. Well done for all of your hard work last week and taking part in children’s mental health week!

Article 42-Â All adults and children should know about this convention. You have a right to learn about your rights and adults should learn about them too.
Check out my cat Darcy and Ewan’s cat Corn trying to distract us from our school work!! How silly are they! Are any of your pets distracting you too?
I am sharing this video with you again because it makes me smile and cheers me up. Missing you all lots, hopefully we can see each other soon! Watch this video to put a huge smile on your face too!
Have a fantastic weekend boys and girls! You should be very proud of yourselves this week, so many achievements! Looking forward to speaking to you all again on Monday!
Oh and once again…congratulations on achieving the school the RRSA bronze award!
Hi Primary 4/5, I have attached our class newsletter of what we will be covering this term 🙂
Hello boys and girls,
I hope you are all well and managing whilst we remain in lockdown. All the staff and I are missing seeing you at school and are looking forward to when we can all return.
You are all doing an excellent job with your home learning and we are very pleased to see so many of you engaging with the learning activities and uploading your work for your class teachers to see.
It is very important that we hear your opinion on our home learning activities so we can provide the most suitable activities for you. I have already asked your parents/carers for feedback and now I would like to hear your feedback.
Please complete the attached survey with your thoughts and opinions on our home learning activities no later than Monday 8th February. You can either click the link here or on your class blog. Remember, only complete the survey once.
TO ACCESS THE SURVEY, CLICK HERE.
Thank you,
Mrs Kelly
Article 12: you have the right to give your opinion and for it to be taken seriously.
Well done in taking part in the children’s mental health week activities! It is such an important cause. Thank you to everyone who sent in videos of them dancing.
I hope this video puts a big smile on all of your faces like it did on mine 🙂 If you haven’t sent one in and you would like to there is still time and I can add you in to the video!
I hope you enjoy it!
Hi P4/5 😀. For day 4 of children’s mental health week we are going to be focusing on feelings and emotions.
We are going to draw our very own dream catcher. Inside the dream catcher we are going to write any negative thoughts or worries that we have and outside the dream catcher we are going to write everything that makes us happy and grateful.
Check out the examples below for some ideas!
As you all know this week is “Children’s Mental Health Week”. It is so important to look after your own mental health and wellbeing, especially during the current pandemic. We all miss our friends and family, but it won’t be long until we can reunite again, which will make it all that more special.
‘Lucy’s in lockdown’ is a story about a girl called Lucy, who is living through a lockdown – just like we are right now! However.. Lucy is a little different to us as her hair changes colour depending on how she is feeling! She has her daily struggles just like the rest of us, but she focuses on the positives and knows that is OK to feel down sometimes. Get yourself comfortable and have a listen to Miss Weir reading the story. I hope you enjoy it!
