Information for Children and Young People

The Exchange – EASY READ_Secondary – YP

The-Exchange is now providing counselling and emotional and psychological support in all secondary schools in East Ayrshire.   The service provides a private space where you can talk about things which are troubling you. Talking things over with a professional can help you to find better ways to cope with difficulties.   Usually you would be referred to the counselling service by your guidance teacher.    Guidance staff will always talk to you about this before making a referral and will encourage you to involve your parents too. Involvement of parents/carers is always encouraged as part of the process but is not essential if you don’t want it to be.

You can find more information about The-Exchange by having a look at East Ayrshire – The Exchange Secondary YOUNG PEOPLE  or visiting their website.

You also have the option of referring yourself to The-Exchange if you feel you would like some support from the counselling service.  To make a referral to The-Exchange, click here.
