Addition strategies

This game is called “Shut the box”. The aim of the game is to find the sum of the 2 dice and decide how to represent this with the numbers. The children must strategise as all numbers need to be used to win the game. In the first round many players were left with number 1 and realised they were unable to complete the game as a score of 1 is not possible with 2 dice. This game is really good for encouraging quick recall of number facts and applying this in the best way to win the game. They had so much fun that they asked for this game at wet indoor play!

Halloween
Wow! What incredible costumes!

We began the day with a whole school Halloween parade.

Next P6/7 had a fun session with their P1/2 buddies doing a variety of Halloween activities.

Our afternoon began with the judging of the Pumpkins by our Pupil Council.

We ended the day with dooking for apples and our Halloween parties, which included great spooky music, dancing and party games. It is safe to say that great fun was had by all.
