We are learning the language of multiplying and dividing as this helps us when solving word problems. In this session, we were working out the missing duvidend, divisor and quotient.

We have been learning about keeping safe online and completed some work on what text messages should look like – being kind and positive.

Also in mental health wellbeing week P5/6 joined our class for a couple of yoga sessions.

We are learning how to calculate perimeter and area in measurement. We worked in small groups taking on different rooms indoors as the weather was not great on Friday. Each group reported back their findings and some were able to compare work done in the same space.

We have revised the colours in french and have been writing simple sentences to state favourite colours.
J’aime le rouge et le violet = I like red and purple.
In P6/7 the children have been working on the language of multiplication and division. Here they were working together to find the duvidend or the duvisor which would match the given quotients. Test them on their understanding of these words!

Here are some pics of our active numeracy. We have been increasing the speed of our tables facts in different ways.
Below we were participating in table team challenges where x calculations were created and opposing team members went head to head to be first to accurately solve the calculations.

We had great fun doing multiplication using dice – some using 2 dice and some using 4 dice.

Working hard solving word problems!

Apologies for terrible photography and the sheer amount of snap shots. This is only a fraction of what was taken on Tuesday’s session!

Finally we have our display boards up in our newly decorated hall. We have been looking forward to displaying our pumpkin patch art work using line, pattern, light/shade, colour and tone. This is our interpretation of the pumpkin patch after the harvest.
We are moving on into applying our times tables knowledge into vertical calculations. Below our pairs of learning buddies challenged their peers with different calculations.

P6 children took the opportunity to choose a group challenge activity. We had 2 teams of 5 going head to head to accurately complete given calculations the quickest.
