Week Ending 09.10.26

This week we had our Harvest Assembly. It was the first opportunity for our P7s to lead a full school assembly and what a good job they did. Well done to our readers and media team.

This week we carried out a weathering and erosion experiment with the trace fossils we made last week.  We noticed that they became worn and small pieces of sediment broke off.  We also froze them and observed the thawing process as they started to have small cracks appear.

This week we have also been chatting about our term 2 Show and have started to think about the size of roles we might like and all of the work that needs done ahead of show day!

We used our last skipping session to show off all the skills we have learned this term.

Week ending 25/09/26

We had a busy week in P6/7 from maths and literacy through to science and ICT.

This week we were working hard on our summarising skills through our novel, Wonder. We’ve also been finishing off our work on multiplication by 10, 100 and 1000 and making links to multiply by other multiples of 10.

In science we learned about fossils, the different types and how they are formed. We then made our own trace fossils using dinosaur figures. We were fascinated when we used the magnifying glasses to see the finer details.

In ICT, and applying our meta skills, we are becoming experts on Teams. We can access assignments, edit documents and submit them for marking. We will continue to build on this as the year progresses.

In PE we have been working hard to develop our skipping skills.
