A huge well done to Primary 3/4 who finished in 2nd place during the East Ayrshire Sumdog competition! We also had two pupils make it into the top ten- Innes and Will. A fantastic result for our first competition.

Thank you to all parents and carers who attended our recent parents evening. We hope you enjoyed seeing your child’s classroom and work, it was lovely to see you all.

We have had a great week crafting for the cattle show, drumming with Mrs MJ and using th nets at Badminton. Miss Murray taught our writing lesson this week and was impressed with the ideas as well as finished work from P3/4.

This week we finish on Thursday at 2.30pm, buses leaving at 2pm, what a quick term it has been! We wish everyone a great Easter bring when it comes.

What a glorious week we had to enjoy our sessions with archaeology Scotland! ☀️

Firstly pupils began by exploring Ochiltree Cemetery on Wednesday. We looked for evidence of people from the past and learned about different types of stone. On Thursday we took part in an archaeological dig and found some interesting artefacts. We finished on Friday by cleaning up our findings and beginning to design our time machines.

In between our outdoor learning, we continued working on subtraction, refined our serve in badminton, wrote some excellent instructions for brushing your teeth and enjoyed creating some spring inspired art.

See what we’ve been up to below-

What a busy week was had by all!

On Wednesday, we got to take part in a fabulous music workshop with the Bernadetti Foundation. The pupils were so engaged and we had many a volunteer to take part. After that, we got stuck into some subtraction problems. We have been learning to use a written calculation and had fun writing these out on the desks. In the afternoon, we wrote instructions for making toast and jam. See the SWAY below to find out how we ‘put the jam on’.

On Thursday, we enjoyed music with Mrs MJ, we have been learning about different instruments from the strings section. We continued our work on subtraction and were reading too.

On Friday we had STEM with Mrs Rooney, followed by more maths and leadership groups. Somewhere in between we had time to make some special cards. We hope all our ‘Mothers and Others’ enjoyed them!

Ready for a busy week with archaeology Scotland!

Week Beginning 23/02/26

We have been having a great time in P.E using the apparatus, the children are becoming so confident!

Although not photographed, we have been working really hard back in class. The children have lots of facts about our Scottish cities- I hope they have been remembering to test you all at home!

We are making super progress within subtraction and are using a range of strategies to help us answer questions correctly. We have enjoyed using concrete materials and blank numberlines.

In literacy we have written an excellent factfile about the city of Glasgow and have started researching a city of our choice using our new Chromebooks.

Remember we are hosting a ‘sharing the learning’ event this Thursday at 2pm. The focus is on reading and we can’t wait to show you what we get up to!
