1976 Song and Dance

As part of our 1976 topic and 50th anniversary celebrations, P3/4 are learning ‘Shake your booty’ by KC and the Sunshine Band. Here is a link to the video we are using to support our dance.

The words can be found below. Any practise at home would be great. Thank you.

Ah everybody, get on the floor and let’s dance
Don’t fight your feelings, give yourself a chance[Chorus]
Shake, shake, shake, shake, shake, shake
Shake your booty, shake your booty
Oh, shake shake shake, shake shake shake
Shake your booty, shake your booty

[Verse 1]
Ah, you can, you can do it very well
You’re the best in the world, I can tell

[Chorus]
Shake, shake, shake, shake, shake, shake
Shake your booty, shake your booty
Oh, shake shake shake, shake shake shake
Shake your booty, shake your booty
Oh yeah

[Pre-Chorus]
Shake, shake, shake, shake
Ah, shake, shake, shake, shake

[Chorus]
Oh, shake, shake, shake, shake, shake, shake
Shake your booty, shake your booty
Oh, shake shake shake, shake shake shake
Shake your booty, shake your booty

[Bridge]
Ah, shake, shake, shake, shake, shake your booty
Ah, don’t fight the feeling
Shake, shake, shake, shake, shake your booty
Ah, give yourself a chance
Shake, shake, shake, shake, shake your booty
You can do it, do it
Shake, shake, shake, shake, shake your booty
Come home with momma now
Shake, shake, shake, shake, shake your booty
Woo-woo-woo-woo-woo, woo-woo-woo
Shake, shake, shake, shake, shake your booty
Ah, run down to sister
Shake, shake, a-ha, shake, shake, a-ha, come on, your booty
Ah, do your duty
A-ha, shake, shake, shake, shake[Outro]
Oh, shake, shake, shake, shake, shake, shake
Shake your booty, shake your booty

Paddington Practise

As part of our 50th anniversary celebrations Primary 3/4 are learning the Paddington theme song as it was first aired on television in 1976. Mrs MJ is leading us in some accompanying percussion. Here is a link below to the song if pupils wish to practise at home.

The start of term 3.

In numeracy we have been learning to measure accurately to the nearest quarter metre.

We designed new flavours of ice-cream for Woody’s and tried to persuade our peers to choose our flavours! There were some interesting combinations!

Well done to all our young farmers on showing their calves, we were very impressed by their handling of the animals. We all enjoyed our visit and lucked out with the weather.

Welcome Back

Welcome back everyone to our final term in p3/4! We can’t believe it, the year has flown in and we have so much to look forward to before the summer.

This week we have the cattle show on Wednesday before beginning our new maths topic of length, recount writing in literacy and football in P.E.

Homework tasks will be updated on Sumdog for numeracy and Boost Learning for reading.

A few photos to be shared from the end of term.

Before we finished up for the holidays Mrs Meek played an April fools on the class… We had to take our socks and shoes off as we thought their was an outbreak of ‘loof lirpa’. We then enjoyed an Easter Egg hunt around the school and playground.

Week Ending 27/03/26

A huge well done to Primary 3/4 who finished in 2nd place during the East Ayrshire Sumdog competition! We also had two pupils make it into the top ten- Innes and Will. A fantastic result for our first competition.

Thank you to all parents and carers who attended our recent parents evening. We hope you enjoyed seeing your child’s classroom and work, it was lovely to see you all.

We have had a great week crafting for the cattle show, drumming with Mrs MJ and using th nets at Badminton. Miss Murray taught our writing lesson this week and was impressed with the ideas as well as finished work from P3/4.

This week we finish on Thursday at 2.30pm, buses leaving at 2pm, what a quick term it has been! We wish everyone a great Easter bring when it comes.

Week Ending 20/03/26

What a glorious week we had to enjoy our sessions with archaeology Scotland! ☀️

Firstly pupils began by exploring Ochiltree Cemetery on Wednesday. We looked for evidence of people from the past and learned about different types of stone. On Thursday we took part in an archaeological dig and found some interesting artefacts. We finished on Friday by cleaning up our findings and beginning to design our time machines.

In between our outdoor learning, we continued working on subtraction, refined our serve in badminton, wrote some excellent instructions for brushing your teeth and enjoyed creating some spring inspired art.

See what we’ve been up to below-
