P1-P3 Thank You!

Wow, what an amazing first day back for our P1-P3 school community. Our highlight was seeing your happy, smiling faces and hearing some of our classrooms come to life again.

We hope you enjoyed your first day back and are looking forward to the rest of the week. Special thanks to our parents/carers for following our entry/exit safety procedures which have minimised gatherings and will continue to keep our whole school community safe.

Please remember to check the weather forecast and pack your umbrella for a rainy day! #OurOnthank #BringOnTomorrow

Safer Internet Day – Tuesday 9th February

Online safety is an important issue which we’re committed to teaching our students about, particularly now that pupils are accessing their education through the internet.

On Tuesday 9th February we will be joining schools across the UK in celebrating Safer Internet Day 2021. Safer Internet Day is a global campaign to promote the safe and responsible use of technology.

We would love for you to join us in celebrating the day by continuing the conversation at home. To help you with this you may be interested in downloading the free Safer Internet Day resource pack for parents and carers which is available here: saferinternet.org.uk/sid-parents.

There is also a quiz and films which you can use at home with your child.

Some other resources which you may find helpful in supporting your child online are:

If you take part in any Internet Safety activities with your child this week, please send a photo of them to nicola.newall@eastayrshire.org.uk.

Thank you!

Big Burns Night In Thanks!

A huge thank you to our Parent Council and #OurOnthank community for organising and attending the #BigBurnsNightIn on Friday evening. We had over 60 families and staff members sign up to the quiz night, which had us all testing our general knowledge on all things Scottish!

Our night also featured our guest piper, Ryan Hume, and LIVE performances from our overall stage winners from the whole school Scottish Poetry Competition. All of our poetry entrants did a fantastic job – we are immensely proud of you all.

It was then over to our community who held an anonymous vote, and after watching all poetry performances, crowned Elise Mc from P1M our overall winner – Congratulations Elise!
