Positive Choices Week 2020

We will be launching ‘Positive Choices Week 2020’ on Monday 8th June.

There will be a variety of activities offered for you to participate in which will explore all aspects of Health and Wellbeing. We will be inviting you to share photos of your experiences throughout the week and you will have the opportunity again to star in one of the famous Onthank Primary YouTube videos!!

We also have a few surprises to share from staff members throughout the week. Check back on Monday for more information! Not to be missed!!

Onthank On Foot

Our very unique initiative ‘Onthank On Foot‘ will run as part of ‘Positive Choices Week’. 

Walking makes us happier and healthier and keeps the planet a cleaner place too!

Each day there will be a task to make your walk even more fun! Please join in and add photos to your Blog or Teams pages. You can also email photos to eadavid.mcilwraith1@glow.sch.uk

Monday – Wear a very colourful outfit

Tuesday – Wear odd socks

Wednesday – Colour Walk – Choose a colour and try to spot objects of that colour whilst on your walk. You could take photos and create a colour montage.

Thursday – Give yourself a crazy hairstyle for your walk.

Friday – Wear your favourite outfit today and pass a smile 🙂

Sports Week Update

Onthank Virtual Sports Week

The time has finally come, so look out your house colours and take part in our school sports week.  Attached are links to your sports day instructions.  There is one for P1-4 and one for P5-7.  Have a look at what your House Captains have in store for you. Record yourself doing your race and send it back in to us via the form attached.  For every race you take part in, you get 10 points for your team… there are 40 points up for grabs for each pupil.  Get the whole family involved!

J.K Rowling – The Ickabog Competition

Calling all budding artists!

Are you between 7 and 12 years old and love to draw?

J.K Rowling the author of the Harry Potter series is looking for children to help illustrate her new book called ‘The Ickabog’.

J.K Rowling will be releasing chapters of the book daily and she will make suggestions as to what you may draw or paint to illustrate the story as it goes along.

Onthank Primary Virtual Sports’ Week

Kindness Family Art Activity

Grab your paints because we have an art activity for you to try at home with your family! As part of Mental Health Awareness Week we have created a Kindness Family Art Activity for our school community. Have a watch at our video and send your artwork to Mr McIlwraith at eadavid.mcilwraith1@glow.sch.uk.
 
Any artwork should be sent no later than Sunday evening so that we can add it to our next virtual assembly!

Thank a Teacher Day

Today is THANK A TEACHER DAY!

You can record a thank you message for a staff member and we will share during our next virtual assembly! You could also write an acrostic poem using the teacher’s name or paint/draw a picture!

Or why not send a smile and use your talents to bring a smile and thank your teacher – tell them a joke, sing a song or do a dance!

Remember you can send a message for anyone in the school – Heather, Tommy, Mrs Andrew and all the staff who miss you!
