Decorating with Heather

Our P2 pupils were given a hygiene preparation lesson by Heather our school cook. We were reminded how to wash our hands properly and everyone thought about how we stop the spread of germs in the kitchen as we decorated Heather’s famous shortbread with icing of different colours  and chocolate buttons. We enjoyed eating our creations together

P2 Topic Homework

Just to let you all know that P2 classes won’t have normal homework this week and next.  There will be Bug Club books/games online but instead over the next 4 weeks they have been asked to write a small fact file on a given animal that lives in the cold.

They need to draw or print a picture of their animal and find 3 interesting facts about it.  They can use a computer, type it, write it – it’s up to them.  They will need a little help finding simple facts.  Enjoy the researching.

P2 Nativity

Parents and guardians are welcome to join us tomorrow morning for the P2 performance of the Nativity “The Christmas Star”.  Please be seated by 10 am.

The children had a great performance today to the school and look forward to a repeat tomorrow.

If you plan to take any photos please be aware that you only have permission to photograph your own child and not all parents want their children photographed.  The Kilmarnock Standard was in today and you will see these in the paper over the next week or so.

Parents and guardians are welcome to stay for tea, coffee and shortbread after the performance.  We look forward to seeing you there.

Dyslexia Friendly School

P2 pupils enjoyed various activities organised by P6K which make the curriculum easier to access. Each task was fun and exciting and the P6 pupils were on hand to guide our children through.

Tortoise Time

Mrs Saxelby brought in her tortoise ‘Heidi’ to visit P2S as we were reading ‘ Esio Trot ‘ by Ronald Dahl.  Cori and Shaw Saxelby led a Question and Answer session and bathed Heidi to help explain how they look after their tortoise. Everyone got to help look after her and handle her throughout the day. It was exciting and everyone had fun!
