In the story ‘The Owl who was Afraid of the Dark’ Plop learns all about stargazing in Chapter 6: Dark is Wonderful. Click on the following link to listen to this chapter of the story.

Frosty nights mean that the night sky is lovely and clear, so we thought we would take a look at the stars, just like Plop and the man with the telescope did.

Here is a BBC Bitesize clip to watch about stargazing. Take time to explore the website.

A constellation is a group of stars that make a recognisable pattern in the night sky. I wonder whether you have ever seen a constellation of stars before? Do you know the names of any of the constellations? Have a look at this video clip of Gem’s Stargazing tips for spotting constellations.

Why not test your knowledge in the quiz below.

Here is some ‘art inspiration’

If you feel up to some creative work, why not recreate a constellation or draw the planets in order.

If you head outside after dark to do some stargazing, remember to wrap up cosy and warm. I wonder whether you will be able to spot any of the constellations and stars that you have just learned about.

ICT – Logging into Microsoft Teams

See the source image

Your ICT mission for today is to access Microsoft Teams using your Glow login details.

We are hoping that we can start using Teams from next week to share your Online Learning.

Using Teams will make it much easier for you to share your work with your teacher, ask questions about your work, communicate with your friends in a ‘Playground’ messaging area and much more too! You might even find a welcome message when you log in!

Getting started and logged in for the first time could be tricky for you on your own, so you might need to ask a grown up at home to give you a helping hand. Please use the information below to guide you through the log in process.

Once you have logged in, click on the ‘General’ chat area and have a go at sending a message to say hello to your teacher and your friends. Here are links for your class Teams page:
