Good Morning P2,

Lots of today’s work has been inspired by the amazing shadows I saw in my garden yesterday, like this one of my Fig Tree.

  • Today I would like you to learn about the science of shadows. Here is a Youtube link explaining light and shadows-

  • If you watch this Peep and the Big Wide World you might get some good ideas of how to have fun with shadows-

  • The weather forecast said to would be sunny today so you could look at your shadows outside and maybe make some funny or scary shapes with them?
  • Another fun thing to do with shadows is to make some shadow art. If you watch these youtube clips they will give you lots of ideas to make shadow art if you want to-

As well as the shadow science and art you could also do some BBC Bitesize Daily Lessons if you want-

  1. Literacy- Using capital letters and full stops
  2. Maths- Fact Families-Linking Adding and Subtraction

There is always some thing to do online if you want. Remember your teacher has given you work on mymaths, Bugclub and Teach your Monster to Read.

After all of that hard work here is a story called ‘Bear Shadow’ by Frank Asch

Have fun, stay safe and don’t forget to Glow Blog and share your work!

(Parents/carers-please remember that these are suggested activities-do what suits your child and your family. There are no expectations that everything I have suggested should be done every day. I will try to put up a range of home learning activities to help you with home schooling and keep the keenest of child busy- but we know how challenging all of this can be so please be kind to yourself- you’re doing a great job!-  Mrs Strain and Team P2)
