BBC Bitesize Daily Lessons

Good Morning P2,

I hope you’ve all had a nice weekend and managed to get outside in the glorious sunshine!

This week your teachers would like you to go on BBC Bitesize to do the daily lessons there. Today there are 3 lessons and activities for you-

  • Numeracy- Ordinal numbers. That means a number that tells you what order something is, for example-first, second and third.
  • Literacy- Some handwriting practice and alliteration.
  • History- You will learn about Dr Martin Luther King

There is a guide to getting on BBC Bitesize on the P2st blog. It’s quite easy to find from a Google search-the most important thing to know is that you select ‘Daily Lessons’ and then ‘Year 1/P2’.

We think you’ll enjoy these activities at home as there are games, videos and worksheets to download.

This term P2’s topic is ‘Growing Things’. There are lots of great resources on BBC Bitesize to help you learn a bit more about Growing Things, and lots of things you can look you for and do at home.

Today if you can watch-

  • ‘What plants can you find outside?’

(Details of how to find this are also on my P2st blog)

Once you have watched this you could go outside to your garden, for a walk or to the park and look around at all of the plants you can see. You could draw some of them, or do tally marks and count how many different plants you can see or talk to your family about the plants you have seen.

I’ve noticed how quickly the trees are changing and growing new leaves, and how green everything looks right now. What do you notice? Why is that happening?

You could also post about what you have done on your Glow blog so that your teacher can see it too.

Have a happy Monday,

Mrs Strain and Team P2
