P4 – Where are the seeds?

Before we planned and carried out our germination experiments we had to find the seeds. We worked with our partner\s to work out the maths calculations and find the clue to their hiding place! We used the different strategies that we have learned to solve the calculations.  Each answer had a corresponding letter. Once all of the calculations were done we read the sentence to find out where the seeds were.

P4 – More than and Less than

We  have been learning to use the more than and less than symbols to compare numbers. We have learned that the crocodile likes to munch the biggest number.

We chose 4 numbers out of the number pots to complete the more than/less than cards.

Our partners peer assessed our work.

We wrote out some number stories using the symbols.

We had time to create our own number stories using the more than and less than symbols. We had free choice of our  numbers.

P4 – Facts and Opinions

This week we have been learning about facts and opinions and the differences between them.

We wrote facts on our whiteboards about penguins and stingrays.

We wrote one fact and one opinion about chameleons.

Next week we will be writing a report on chameleons using notes that we have been taking.

P4 – Summary

We listened to a book called Conker the Chameleon and wrote a summary of it.  We also re-created the front covers.

Our next steps are to read through our work and see if we can up-level our spelling, letter formation and punctuation. We will be doing this tomorrow.
