We played a game using co-ordinates. We tried to guess where the Halloween characters were hiding and then used the pen to reveal if they were there. We used crosses to mark co-ordinates we had tried.
We learned that co-ordinates –
Today we started to learn about contractions. We used magic to reveal the answer!
We used what we had learned to create a contractions grid.
We used the Prometheus board to share our understanding.
We had a game of musical characters. We danced to the music and when the music stopped we had to freeze in the pose of a witch, a vampire or Frankenstein. We then spun the spinner and whichever character it landed on was out and had to sit down.
What amazing costumes!
The class voted for their favourite costumes. Well done to Liam for winning and thank you to the parent council for donating the prize!

Today we had a chance to share our favourite Halloween Characters. We went around the class and stated which one was our favourite. While we were sharing this information we were recording it using tally marks. We then counted up our tally marks and used the information to create a bar graph.
We assessed our partner’s work and told them things we liked about it and one thing that they could do better next time. We are going to be gathering information tomorrow and presenting it in the form of a bar graph so that will give us the chance to work on our feedback.
We began our block of work on gymnastics. Our focus today was travelling in different ways.
Peer Assessment
The children chose other children’s movements they thought were interesting and they got to demonstrate their form of travel.
We have been reading the Iron Man.
Yesterday we read the beginning of chapter 4 of the Iron Man and answered questions about the text. We made sure that we were answering the questions in sentences. We also made predictions about what would happen next in the text.
ASSESSMENT
Today we are going to improve our work by working on the feedback given by Mrs Petrie on our postit notes.
We used our addition skills to work out the name of the book we were going to read. The book was based Lewis Carroll’s poem Jabberwocky.
We have been learning to add using the vertical calculation strategy.
