We have started a block of work on coding. We were using the BBC:Microbits and block code to write programs. We will continue to develop our skills next week.

Yesterday we made a ball and cup game.  We then wrote a set of instructions to tell others how to make it.  We are going to give the instructions to P7 and they are going to try to make them as part of their Victorians topic.

We have been learning how to say the weather in French. We recorded the names in our booklets and added illustrations. We also had fun playing games on the promethean dashboard.

We finished the Iron Man novel and wrote a summary of the last chapter. Mrs Petrie highlighted our great parts.

She gave us feedback so that we know how to improve our work. We had time to work on our feedback.

We used this chapter to create a piece of drama. We created play scripts by making up a conversation that the Iron Man and the Dragon might have had. We then acted them out in front of the class.

As part of Road Safety Week we were using stick bots to convey a road safety message. We used the slider tool to watch our movies.  Next week we will continue to develop this skill and use iMovie to create mini movies.

We were focussing on creating and holding balances.

As part of Scottish Book Week we had a competition to name famous authors. We have decided to have another quiz next month and we are all going to look more closely at the names of the authors when we are reading books from the class library.

As part of Anti-bullying week we have been recoding times when we have been kind to someone and times when someone has been kind to us.

Last week we looked at materials that are absorbent and materials that are waterproof. We worked as a group to record our ideas.

We then used what we had learned to design and create waterproof containers. We tested them out and made changes where needed.

We have been learning about the different ways that animals have adapted to life in extreme climate zones. We learned that adaptations can be physical or behavioural. We used our understanding to make posters.

We also used our copy and paste skills to make PowerPoint title pages.
