P4 – Silver Award

It was great to share what we have been doing at home to achieve our silver awards. We learned all about ways to conserve water and relaxation techniques people have been using.

All the silver award targets can be found in the wider achievement section. If you have missed a few you can work on them at any time. Our new targets for the fortnight will be added on Monday!

A huge well done to this week’s presenters!

Wow look at these amazing flowers that were made at home using the skills we had learned on Monday in school!  Well done!

P4 – French

We played a roll and draw game to help us learn our French words for the body parts. We worked in pairs. We had to roll a number on a dice and then draw that body part onto our face. The winner was the first person to draw a complete face.

P4 – The Skeletal System

We have been busy this week learning about bones.

First we used the Internet to identify and label some of the main bones in our body.

We then learned about the different jobs/functions of the bones.

We created posters to show the functions of the bones.

We used the success criteria to assess our posters using the TAG technique –

  • T – Tell something you like about the work
  • A – Ask a question about it
  • G – Give a suggestion about how it can be improved

We used our technical skills to make a 3D model of a bone showing the –

  • compact bone
  • spongy bone
  • bone marrow

P4 – Mini Project

Over the last 2 days we have been working on a mini project based on the book The Barnabus Project.

We looked at the front cover and made predictions.

We made folders to keep our work in. We tried to make them look like the case files from the book.

We listened to the story and then wrote a summary.

The weather was perfect for making ice sculptures of perfect pets.

Here is an amazing ice sculpture of Barnabus the mouse elephant!

We then created our own Barnabus Project pets out of super clay. Can you guess which two animals they are a mix of?

Later we wrote about our characters.

We acted out some scenarios from the book and then developed our mime skills. We used our bodies and faces to convey feelings and emotions.
